Staff, Family, Partners, and Friends Form a Team for the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® North County Event on September 28th

ENCINTAS, CA, – Olivenhain Guest Home has been a longtime supporter of the Alzheimer’s Association. As one of the leading pioneers in Memory Care for Alzheimer’s patients, Olivenhain Guest Home has been part of the movement to find new treatments and protocols for helping their residents who suffer from the disease. As part of their commitment to bring awareness and raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Association, the community has formed a team to walk in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s® North County San Diego event to be held on September 28th at Kit Carson Park in Escondido, CA.

“We are excited to participate in the North County San Diego Walk to End Alzheimer’s® next month. We have participated in this event several times and our staff, family, friends, and partners all love doing this because it gives them a way to join other caregivers in the community to show their support for each other and the Alzheimer’s Association. We have a big goal of raising $2,000 this year and we are looking for people in the community to join our team or make a donation to our team online,” said Hank Kurtz, President of Olivenhain Guest Home.

The Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s® is the world’s largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care, support and research. Held annually in more than 600 communities nationwide, this inspiring event calls on participants of all ages and abilities to reclaim the future for millions.

Memory Walk® began in 1989 with nine Alzheimer’s Association chapters raising $149,000 from 1,249 participants. In 1993, Memory Walk grew into an event nationwide and raised $4.5 million at 167 locations. In 2018 more than 65,000 teams participated in more than 600 Walks across the country, raising more than $90 million. The Alzheimer’s Association has mobilized millions of Americans in the fight against the disease, now we continue to lead the way with the Walk to End Alzheimer’s®. The end of Alzheimer’s disease starts here. The event celebrates caregivers, patients, and those who have lost the battle in a beautiful “Memory Garden” of colorful flowers.
